Glo Nail Bar

4901 30 Avenue Beaumont AB T4X 1M9 · Personal Services

Inspection summary

Glo Nail Bar has been inspected 4 times by Alberta Health Services (Environmental Public Health) since July 20, 2025. The most recent inspection, on August 24, 2026, found no infractions.

3 of 4 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there were 3 inspections with 2 infractions recorded. All recorded findings relate to upkeep, equipment or paperwork rather than direct infection-control risks to clients.

Recent inspections have recorded more infractions than earlier ones, so it is worth reading the latest reports closely.

What these findings mean

Health authorities word their findings differently, so we group them by what they mean for clients. In personal service settings like salons, spas and tattoo studios, higher-risk findings are the ones that could spread infection from one client to the next, through broken skin, blood or instruments that were not properly cleaned and sterilized.

  • Equipment and utensilsLower risk

Instruments, chairs, tables and footbaths must be made of materials that can be cleaned, kept in good repair and stored so they stay clean. Single-use items such as nail files, buffers, razors and needles must be thrown away after each client.

Recorded 2 times on August 20, 2026. For example: Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?

    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • - The operator followed proper procedures for cleaning used equipment prior to disinfection and demonstrated familiarity with the manufacturer's instructions for use (MIFU) for PreEmpt CS20. However, the PreEmpt CS20 on site expired in February 2026. The operator was using PreEmpt RTU for high-level disinfection/sterilization of semi-critical equipment. Intermediate-level disinfectants like PreEmpt RTU do not meet HLD standards for semi-critical equipment.- There were no CS20 test strips available on site, and the operator was not maintaining CS20 test logs.ACTION REQUIRED:1) Stop using PreEmpt RTU for semi-critical tools, as RTU is an intermediate-level disinfectant and is insufficient for high-level disinfection.2) Purchase a new High Level Disinfectant like PreEmpt CS20 immediately for semi-critical tools.3) Purchase test strips for PreEmpt CS20 to verify the minimum effective concentration prior to each use or daily.4) maintain a daily disinfection log recording test strip results, date of solution preparation/expiry.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • **The operator was disinfecting client contact surfaces using 70% isopropyl alcohol that lacked a Drug Identification Number (DIN). Unapproved alcohol lacking a DIN cannot be used as surface disinfectant. The operator was directed to use PreEmpt RTU for disinfecting client contact surfaces.- Client contact surfaces appeared clean and in good repair.
