      • - There were no established written procedures for client care in the event of an accidental skin cut or puncture, dual purpose sink: steps for decontamination and Cleansing of skin and mucous membrane. Templates were provided to the operator.ACTION REQUIRED:1) Considering the language barrier with staff, i recommend a laminated sheet for cleaning and disinfecting the sink between handwashing and tool reprocessing.

      • - No established cleaning procedures exist for the laser machine or the eye protection between users and general facility cleaning and disinfection.ACTION REQUIRED:1) For each room, establish a daily cleaning and sanitizing checklist for the room and client contact surfaces.2) Establish a procedure for cleaning and disinfecting the laser machine and associated eye protection.

      • A Class 4 laser machine is present on-site. The operator confirmed it is a new purchase. There was no evidence of an AASP (Alberta Association for Safety Partnerships) registration for the device.ACTION REQUIRED:1) Ensure that the laser machine is registered with AASP2) Install a "Laser in Use" sign on the laser room door.
