    • CI1.7 - Is the facility operating legally under the Act?
      • Observation(s): Licensing reviewed the website and social media, which showed that the care being offered is advertised as a Preschool program. There are three adults providing care to six children not related to the adults by blood or marriage. The children in care are engaged in an art activity and one child is playing in a ball pit. An employee described the daily schedule as: free play, movement, dance, snack time, art and sensory activities. The scope of programming being offered does not meet the criteria to be a program exempted from the Community Care and Assisted Living Act, therefore meets the requirements for a community care facility licence. Immediate compliance to Section 5 of the Community Care and Assisted Living Act is required. A written compliance plan must be submitted to licensing by April 2, 2025 at 8:00am.
      • CI1.7A - A person must not operate or hold themselves out as operating a community care facility. Act( 5 )(a)
      • CI1.7B - A person must not provide or hold themselves out as providing care in a community care facility. Act( 5 )(b)
      • CI1.7C - A person must not accommodate or hold themselves out as accommodating a person who requires care in a community care facility. Act( 5 )(c)
