- Sandpaper dremel pieces which cannot be cleaned and disinfected are used between clients. The white file wand cannot be cleaned and sanitized between use. Tools that are porous that cannot withstand washing with detergent and water and sanitizing with a sanitizing solution cannot be re-used on clients. *Ensure the paper dremel piece is discarded after use on each client and clean and sanitize the bit. *Replace the old files with single-use files that are discarded after use.
- 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
- Barbicide is a low-level disinfectant. Obtain at least an intermediate or high-level disinfectant to disinfect reusable equipment with hard non-porous surfaces. If services cause a breaking of skin, a high-level disinfectant must be used for reprocessing reusable equipment.
