      • Linoleum has a rip and hole where the floor stopper ripped out of the floor. Maintenance committed to filling the hole with a water-resistant material. Floors are scheduled to be replaced in a few months.

    • 08. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
      • Onions, potatoes, boxes of V8 juice and boxes of take-out containers are stored on the floor in storage rooms. Keep all food and food packaging stored off the floor to protect these items from contamination.
    • 10. Are food temperatures during storage and processing being controlled to maximize food safety?
      • Chicken dish cooked to be used the following day was cooling on the counter with a tinfoil cover trapping the heat inside. Chicken measured 38 to 45 degrees Celsius. Discussed cooling foods quickly and tinfoil cover was partially removed to let heat escape, then the dish was moved into the cooler.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • Weather strip on emergency door between kitchen and dining room weather strip is showing a large gap. Replace weather strip to form a seal on the door to prevent entry of pests.
    • 23. Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?
      • Can opener and dough mixer contain some build-up of food debris. Clean and sanitize this equipment.

      • Two bait stations were placed in the kitchen storage rooms. Bait is not used as a first line of defense against rodents unless absolutely necessary to control an infestation through the administration of a certified pest control operator. Replace bait traps with catch traps.
