Inspection summary
Heaven's Gate Estate Winery has been inspected 5 times by Interior Health Authority since October 19, 2018. The most recent inspection, on July 10, 2026, recorded 1 infraction.
2 of 5 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there was 1 inspection with 1 infraction recorded. All recorded findings relate to upkeep, equipment or paperwork rather than direct food-handling risks.
Recent inspections have recorded more infractions than earlier ones, so it is worth reading the latest reports closely.
What these findings mean
Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.
Permits, records and postingLower risk
Operating permits, required signage, written procedures and logs. These findings are administrative: the documentation was missing or out of date at the time of inspection.
Recorded 2 times across 2 separate inspections, most recently on July 10, 2026. For example:
1 Does the operator have a valid operating permit or approval to operate?
Other findingsLower risk
Findings that do not fit the categories above, such as follow-ups that confirm an earlier violation was corrected, or requirements specific to this type of facility.
Recorded once on June 19, 2024. For example:
1 Does the facility have proper monitoring supplies?

Love the smaller wineries and this one we both enjoyed I prefer white, hubby prefers red. If you enjoy red they have a great promotion on cases of red. Very relaxed wine tasting my only suggestion it would be really nice to be able to enjoy the wine tasting on your beautiful patio. We will define back again.

Very stylish and fresh quaint mid size winery. Good red selection, merlot was our fave. Nice picnic area with excellent view. Include this as a stop for your Summerland wine tour

We had a lovely tasting with Michael who was incredibly warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. The reds just kept getting better and better and the price points were awesome. Thank you for a great tasting.

Been several times to Heaven's Gate Estate Winery. Tastings are $10.00/person for five pours, refunded with bottle purchase. The pourers are sweet and easy to converse with. Always interesting case deals. Last year, we bought a case of maréchal foch ($150.00); uniquely earthy with a hint of dill. Prices include all taxes and bottle deposits. - 2020 Viognier - 2022 Gewurztraminer - not your usual gewurtz. Bought a bottle ($21.00). - Sparkling gamay - an easy sparkling sipper. Bought a bottle ($24.00). - 2018 Gamay noir - tried two versions (normal and chilled). Completely different. - 2018 Malbec - 2018 Igneous - 2019 Cabarnet franc Worth a visit to HGEW.

Beautiful winery overlooking Okanagan lake, located in the heart of Summerland, on bottle neck drive. Always enjoy the experience of boutique wines in a cozy little log cabin. Located on happy valley road, it lives up to it’s name with the most happy and welcoming staff. The wines are elegantly packaged to match a sophisticated taste profile. Bright clean whites and age worthy reds. In the summer months you will often come across complementary live music on Saturday, where they invite you to bring a picnic and purchase a bottle of wine to live an afternoon of your best Okangan life. The owner and wine maker, Tyson Felt, can often be found running around the property or on the tasting bar as your host. And.... they have the most adorable winery dog named Rogue. I don’t know about you, but this place definitely checks all the boxes of a true authentic and family run Okanagan winery. A must try!
