Inspection summary
8th Generation has been inspected 8 times by Interior Health Authority since June 16, 2015. The most recent inspection, on July 10, 2026, found no infractions.
7 of 8 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there was 1 inspection with 0 infractions recorded. All recorded findings relate to upkeep, equipment or paperwork rather than direct food-handling risks.
The last 5 inspections in a row found no infractions. The number of infractions per inspection has stayed roughly the same over time.
What these findings mean
Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.
Permits, records and postingLower risk
Operating permits, required signage, written procedures and logs. These findings are administrative: the documentation was missing or out of date at the time of inspection.
Recorded 2 times on September 27, 2017. For example:
1 - Does the operator have a valid operating permit or approval to operate?

A group of 4 of us decided to drop into this great small winery, we are so glad we did!! We were met by Colin who was very engaging and informative both about the wines and the history and background of the winery. This is a beautiful location, the wines are on point! I liked the cider style product they made when they had a bad grape year! When you are in the Okanagan and near Summerland you need to ensure you set aside an hour and stop by this great small winery! Highly recommend….hopefully you will get Colin as well! He was awesome!

We felt the energy just walking on the premises! We were met by Collin who was full of knowledge and was engaging. He took his time and was very thorough. Make sure to visit--you will not be disappointed.

Had such a beautiful experience at 8th Generation Winery in Summerland. The wines were amazing, the atmosphere was warm and relaxing, and the staff made the tasting experience even better. Definitely one of my favorite stops in the Okanagan!

I went on a wine tasting experience. It was great to hear the story about their family and their grape growing challenges and the wine making challenges caused by weather and other factors. I bought 2 bottles of wine. It would really be great if you could do a tour of your production warehouse. It does not have to be perfectly clean organized because it is a work space. I would be willing to $ pay 10 for a tour like that it would cover your possible extra costs for this.

Excellent tasting experience. Knowledgeable friendly staff, delicious wines and a picnic area. Amazing place to take out of town visitors for an Okanagan wine experience. Can’t wait to return

Rave: Patio, dog friendly, kind staff, amazing wines, and tasting fees waived with purchase (which is becoming a rarity in the valley)! 8th Generation Blanc de Noir had me coming back for that glorious bottle of Okanagan summer, but this time I brought my friend, a 13lb Morkie who loves quality time with her mom. 8th Generation's patio was beyond perfect for a mommy doghter wine tasting. Connie went above and beyond, bringing Mia her own sample bowl of water and kindly asking if she would like a treat, making Connie her new favourite person. It's small touches like this that really stand out and show the staff values the customer experience and that even extends to our furry friends. The shade and grass left Mia happy as can be while her mom sampled wines. Connie was so knowledgeable and helpful, answering all my questions knowledgeably. I've never had anything but a beautiful experience at 8th Gen and always enjoy my time and the staff every year is stellar, welcoming, and always fun. Can't say enough about the Blanc de Noir and it's currently my favourite white wine in the valley!!

I love their wines, and the price point is great too, my problem is that they will not take cash. My partner went there to buy me a couple of bottles for a weekend trip and he came back empty handed. They refused to take his cash and were somewhat indignant that he only had cash. I am sorry, but I can no longer support this business.

This was one of the best wine experiences we have had. Colin was so knowledgeable, it really felt like we were the only ones there, we were treated so well! Great wines, lovely wine shop!
