Operator stated he changes the acid/ chlorine injectors weekly to keep them clean.Controller read 720 mv (set point 720 mv).Was not in alarm.The system reportedly required recalibration ~every 3 days. The system was not operating reliably. (See low chlorine comment). Technician expected in an hour.

      • The automated system was not operating reliably. Technician adjusted equipment during inspection. Re-inspection required to determine if the adjustments were successful.

      • FC 1.7 ppm at arrival. Operator manually added chlorine to FC 4.21 ppm. See intro comments.pH 7.39 at arrival but 8.16 after bleach addition. pH must return to 6.8-7.6 when the pool is open.

      • The chlorine injector was leaking and was probably clogged. Sergey to fix it by Tuesday.At arrival controller read ORP 932 mv and was in alarm (despite FC only 1.7 ppm in basin). Sergey adjusted the ORP reading to 680 mv which was below the setpoint. The system began to feed chlorine. The controller did not seem to respond to chemistry changes well even testing at the controller sample port. The system reportedly required recalibration ~every 3 days. The system was not operating reliably. Probes should be discussed with the technician. Technician expected in about 2 weeks.Operator asked to check chemistry at least 3x daily until the pool was shown to operate reliably. *Pool must be closed if the water is not within parameters.

      • The free chlorine measured OR on pool test kit. Staff's kit measured ~10 ppm. Staff were working on decreasing the free chlorine of hot tub at time of inspection.pH measured OR on test kit. Staff's kit measured 7.6.

      • Temperature of hot tub measured 42C. Staff adjusted temperature to 38C.Ensure temperature does not exceed 40C in the hot tub at all times.

Ensure all chemistry and bacteriological sampling is satisfactory before hot tub is re-opened. A follow up inspection will be conducted. ORP was measured below the allowable limit as well as the pH exceeded the allowable limit for the amount of chlorine present.

      • Free available chlorine (FAC) was tested in the hot tub at 0.37 ppm. FAC is required to be a minimum of 2 ppm in pools with temperatures above 30 C. The hot tub cannot be used until it has been shocked and the pool chemistry is rebalanced so that FAC in the hot tub is above 2.0 ppm.
