    • 04. Is the chemical quality of the water in this pool satisfactory (Critical)?
      • Inspector's reading taking at 3pm:- FCL = 0ppm, TCL= 0ppm, pH = 6.96- Reading from the controller at 2:20pm: ORP=145mV and pH = 7,24.The inspector's readings were significantly different from those of the operator taking around 11am. **The operator was asked to conduct a manual test of the pool water using his test kit. The operator performed the test without zeroing/blanking the equipment. The pool operator was asked why he did not zero the equipment and he said, "that is how i do the testing". This explained why the operator's reading were different from those of the inspector.- The operator could not correct the chlorine issue in the pool at the time of the inspection because there was an active leak on the pipe/tube that feeds chlorine The operator voluntarily closed the poolACTION REQUIRED:1) Whirlpool to remain closed to the public until a re-inspection is completed2) Repair the leaking chlorine line3) Ensure that you maintain a free chlorine reading of 2ppm in the basin.
    • 05. Is the chemical quality of the water in this pool satisfactory (Non-Critical)?
      • - Alkalinity in the pool was measured at 33ppmACTION REQUIRED:1) Maintain alkalinity between 60-180ppm
    • 07. Are the filtration, circulation and disinfection systems used to maintain water quality working properly (Non-Critical)?
      • **Flapper/floating weir was missing from one of the skimmers.- Pool volume is 734gal, filter surface area is 4.91sq.ft., flow rate was 63gpm- Turnover = 734gal/63gpm = 11.7 minutes**Filtration rate - 63gpm/4.91sq.ft = 12.8gpm/sq.ftACTION REQUIRED:1) Install the flappers or floater weir in the skimmer to maximize surface recirculation/skimming of the pool water.2) Please keep your flow rate between 49 - 61gpm. Running your whirlpool above 61gpm will take your filtration rate about the required 12.5gpm/sq.ft
    • 14. Is the pool maintained in a clean and sanitary condition, good repair and are temperatures being properly regulated?
      • - Water temperature was 37C** Missing tiles were noted in the basin, near the main drain covers. ACTION REQUIRED:1) Replace the missing tiles in the hot tub basin as soon as possible as this was cited at the beginning of 2024. The sharps edges from the missing tiles may cause bruising of bathers' skin.
    • 15. Has an owner or owner's agent, if any, been identified and is the pool operated and maintained by a qualified pool operator?
      • The operator's certificate had expired and there were some gaps in the operator's knowledge on basic pool test. The operator was asked to perform a pool chemistry test, and he performed the test without blanking the instrument. When asked why he did not blank the instrument and he said " that is how i have always done it and i was not aware that i supposed to blank the instrument"ACTION REQUIRED>1) Have the pool operator take a refresher of the pool operator course as soon as possible.
    • 16. Are proper testing, monitoring, and other records being properly maintained?
      • **The operator keeps a daily records of pool chemistry test results, but the results are inaccurate because the test were not done correctly. The operator was not blanking the testing instrument prior to performing the test.**The test instrument itself appeared to have malfunctioned. When the operator tried to blank the machine, it kept showing error messagesACTION REQUIRED:1) Ensure that the testing machine is in good working order. if not, please repair or replace it.2) Ensure that operator is following proper procedure in performing pool chemistry test. Ensure that the manufacturer's instruction for use is available to the pool operator.
