    • 08. Is hand hygiene performed by the personal services worker when required, in a proper manner and are provisions available to perform hand hygiene?
      • 1) Paper towels were stored on the washroom wall ledge without a holder. 2) Paper towels were stored on the waxing cart without a holder. 1 to2) Provide a holder to hold the paper towels.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 1) Manicure drill bits were just placed in PREempt CS20 without cleaning and drill bits were not rinsed after soaking for 20 minutes.2) Staff stated that they soak the manicure and pedicure tools for 5 to 10 minutes. 1 to 2) Follow the manufacturer's instructions.1) CLEAN/RINSE/DRY Clean tools using water and detergent. Rinse and dry thoroughly. 2)FILL SOAKER Pour PREempt™ CS20 directly into soaking tray. Do not dilute3) SOAK TOOLS & RE-USE SOLUTION Fully immerse tools in PREempt™ CS20 for 20 minutes.4)RINSE, DRY & STORE Rinse tools with water and dry manually using clean cloth or disposable towel. Store in a clean container marked “DISINFECTED”.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • Holes along the sides and top of the waxing table. Resurface or replace the waxing table.
    • 30. Is the reprocessing area of a personal service facility that uses reusable equipment properly designed, managed and maintained to ensure the safety of clients?
      • Mold/black substances build-up on the reprocessing sink edges. Clean and disinfect the reprocessing sink.
