      • - Reprocessing areas are not separated from incompatible undertakings. Reprocessing areas must be separated from incompatible undertakings, which include sleeping, dining, food preparation, routine employee and client traffic, and storage of employee personal effects. The sink in the back room was being used for both dishes and tool reprocessing. The sink used for tools needs to be designated for that purpose only.

      • -There were no handwashing supplies at the sink that the owner indicated was for handwashing. Ensure all sinks are stocked with handwashing supplies. In addition an alcohol based hand sanitizer should be available at work stations for staff use.
    • 10. Is cleansing and antisepsis of skin and mucous membrane performed in accordance to written procedures and are suitable products being used?
      • -There was no cleanser available for cleaning skin prior to waxing. Ensure a cleanser is available and used on the clients skin prior to each service.

      • -Used single use beauty blenders were observed in storage. Ensure beauty blenders are disposed of after each use.-Equipment used to puncture the skin or mucous membrane was not being discarded after use on one use. Ensure needles, lancets, and other equipment with used to puncture the skin or mucous membrane is discarded after each use. A re-useable metal lancet was being used for facials. This item is considered a sharp and a critical tool and therefore, needs to be disposed of after each use. Please remove this item.*If you are going to use lancets ensure single use disposable ones are available as well as a sharps container.

      • - Porous and uncleanable equipment was not being treated with a suitable product. Antiseptic products (such as hydrogen peroxide, 70% alcohol or detergent/soap) can be used to treat porous/uncleanable equipment such as make-up brushes. Make-up brushes were visibly unclean. Ensure brushes are cleaned and an antiseptic product used after every use.

      • -Make-up products were being stored without lids. Ensure all products are stored with lids to prevent contamination.

      • -There was no manual for the Laser. Ensure a user manual is available on-site at all times.-There were no manuals on-site for the Hydrafacial, Microdermabrasion and Pollogen Machine’s. Ensure manuals are available.

      • - The personal services facility is not maintained in a visibly clean state. Ensure additional cleaning is done. Both the wax room and facial room needed cleaning on surfaces, in drawers, on walls etc.
