    • 08. Is hand hygiene performed by the personal services worker when required, in a proper manner and are provisions available to perform hand hygiene?
      • The handwashing sink in the bathroom (which is available to the public) did not have stocked soap or paper towels. A sign said "Please do not wash your hands here." When asked, operator stated that she did not want clients washing their hands there as she sometimes washed her dishes there. Operator was informed that this sink MUST be stocked for proper handwashing for both staff and clients, and that dishes were not to be washed in the washroom.

      • Although the facility was re-using Preempt CS20, they were not testing it daily or recording those results on the provided log.

    • 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
      • Required written procedures were not observed. Written procedures as it applies to your operations must be created, such as:- Procedure for client care in the event of an accidental skin cut or puncture.- Procedure for cleaning of skin and mucous membrane.- Procedure for decontamination of the sink at the facility used for both handwashing and equipment reprocessingTemplates will be sent with this report.
    • 14. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Non-Critical)?
      • Used single-use nail files were observed at some nail stations. The operator was instructed to discard the nail files during inspection.Please ensure single use items are disposed immediately after use.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • High-level disinfectant was not available to disinfect pedicure and manicure tools. Intermediate level disinfectant (Preempt Concentrate) was being used. - Obtain a high-level disinfectant.- Obtain test strips to verify the concentration of the disinfectant each day used. -- - Disinfectant testing log sheet/record must be kept.A high-level disinfectant testing log sheet template will be sent with this report.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • Some foot bowls appeared unclean. Debris were observed behind the magnetic holder. Please clean and disinfect the foot bowls and its accessories.
