      • Stargazers 1: Temperature at hand sink in room was measured to be 57.6C.Discussed with staff in the room to ensure that they confirm the temperature of the water prior to handwashing with children (hot and cold water available).Maximum temperature at the hand sink must be below 54C with a strong recommendation of a maximum of 49C. Please ensure the hand sink is adjusted to meet these temperatures to prevent scalding.

      • Shared washroom between Navigators 1 and 2:Water pressure at the hand sink was very low, making it difficult to wash hands.Explorer room 3:Hand sink in room was noted to be 22. 7C at time of inspection. Staff indicated it fluctuates throughout day but is cool. Please ensure adequate temperature for proper handwashing is available consistently (Temperature was too cool, recommended to have a temperature between mid 30's - low 40Cs)

      • 1 crib mattress was noted to be ripped in areas which would limit the effectiveness of disinfection. Please replace the crib mattress to be in good repair and cleanable.

    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • Staff were observed diapering in child care room (standing diapering). At the time of diapering, children did not wash their hands. Hand washing occurred for all the children after all diapering was completed.*Staff wore gloves during diapering. Please ensure gloves are changed between children diaper changes and hand washing is completed after each child (for staff and child).
    • 19. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Critical)?
      • Please ensure that toy washing is completed in the approved sinks. No toy washing can occur in the single sinks that are used for diapering hand washing at any time.Please ensure that toy washing includes:3 sink method OR commercial sanitizer. *Staff indicated that mouthed toys are cleaned and sanitized in the diapering hand sink in one room.

      • Stargazers 1: Hand sink water temperature was cool. Staff indicated the temperature of the water fluctuates regularly. Please have the temperature of the hand sink to have adequate and cold running water that is comfortable for hand washing.
