      • 2026-05-04: Repeat violation from the previous inspection. Peeling paint was observed on walls at multiple locations throughout the facility, indicating surfaces are not smooth, moisture‑impervious, or easily cleanable. Operator was advised that walls must be repaired and repainted with water‑resistant paint to allow for proper cleaning.2025-04-17: Multiple instances where the paint or drywall was damaged and no longer smooth, impervious to moisture and easy to clean were observed. Please repair walls and then repaint with water resistant paint to allow proper cleaning.

    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • The bleach sanitizer concentration was initially measured at 50 ppm in baby room. The operator was advised to ensure that an adequate concentration of disinfectant is maintained at the facility. The operator then prepared a fresh sanitizer solution, which was subsequently measured at 100 ppm.

      • 2026-05-04: Repeat violation from last year. All rooms were observed with visible dirt, debris, and sand (sensory play) accumulated in drawers, under rugs, and on counters. Operator was instructed to clean and maintain all affected areas to ensure the facility remains clean and orderly. Operator was advised to implement a staff cleaning checklist and conduct internal daily or weekly audits to support ongoing compliance.2025-04-17: The following areas are dirty and require cleaning: Walls from hip height and down, Ceiling vent grates and surrounding ceiling area, Walls immediately surrounding handwashing stations.

      • Unlabeled water bottles were observed stored together in a shared container in the pre-school room. Staff were advised to clearly label all bottles and items for each child to ensure proper identification and to maintain children’s health.

      • The following areas are dirty and require cleaning: Walls from hip height and down, Ceiling vent grates and surrounding ceiling area, Walls immediately surrounding handwashing stations.

      • Several ceiling tiles throughout the facility were observed to be water damaged. These must be painted or replaced so that new sources of incoming water can be properly monitored.

    • 05. Are communicable diseases at this facility being properly managed?
      • Illness logs showed that two children had been absent from the daycare within 48 hours of inspection, both with loose watery stools. This had not been reported to EPH. Operator was directed to report these cases and did so under the observation of Inspector. Illness logs also showed no staff illnesses dating back over 6 months. When questioned, Director admitted that a staff member was out sick that same day with a sore throat. This was added to illness log upon request of the PHI. - All / any cases of illness identified in children and staff at each facility must be logged and managed (e.g. isolated or excluded) by staff at the facility, in a manner consistent with the AHS Outbreak Guidelines that pertain to the facility.- Clusters of illness identified (indicating a possible outbreak) at any facility must be reported to AHS and managed in a manner consistent with AHS guidelines that pertain to the facility.
    • 05. Are communicable diseases at this facility being properly managed?
      • A child in the infant room had their temperature taken during inspection and was found to be 37.7C. The child was not initially removed from the classroom while awaiting a parent to pick them up. Child was moved to the designated sick space (Director's Office) at the request of the PHI.

      • Multiple waste containers were observed throughout the facility that should open with a wave or motion, but either the battery is dead or the mechanism is broken. Please replace these with waste containers which do not require touching to open and dispose of waste, as this is not sanitary.
    • 21. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Critical)?
      • The facility had a hot water heater, which serves the laundry room, one toddler room and one infant room, which was non-operational at time of inspection. Work had been completed on the hot water heater a week prior. A call was made to a plumber while PHI was onsite.
