   • Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?
     • Observation(s): A child sleeping in a crib in the Infant/toddler program had access to foam rubber floor mats that were stored near the side of the crib. This foam could be picked at and cause a choking hazard to a young child. This was removed and resolved during the inspection. All regular playground inspections must be performed and documented in the log for playground inspections. Only one recent inspection was documented. The Manager advised that staff regularly check and monitor the adequacy of protective surfacing under the swings and slides as per the Safe Play Space document. Staff were observed to be raking the pea gravel to increase the depth of protective surfacing.
     • A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child; 17
