      • Bingo markers were observed in the Pre-school childcare room.Indicated markers were removed by the staff member during the inspection.

      • First Aid Kit was checked in the infant room and following items were missing:Thermal blanketCPR maskTweezers Please refer to Appendix H for the Health and Safety Guide for Childcare facility to ensure the first aid kits in all the children are fully stocked.
    • 17. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Critical)?
      • Facility throughout needs extensive cleaning and disinfection of play equipment, shelving units, surfaces and furniture.Make sure to clean and disinfect thoroughly, any furniture, equipment or shelving units that can no longer be cleaned and showing signs of disrepair must be discarded.
    • 17. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Critical)?
      • Following concerns were noted1) The bathroom sink in one of the toddler rooms (red room) was not secured to the wall.Duct tape was in use in attempt to secure the indicated sink which is not acceptable. 2) The hand-rail leading to the blue room was very loose.Ensure to repair the handrail.3) Tape was observed to temporarily fix the stair treads leading to the blue room.4) Paint was peeling from walls in infant room (the peeled paint wall was accessible to infant).Ensure that noted deficiencies are noted in timely manner.

      • Water temperature at all the handwashing stations accessible to children was measured at above 54 degrees C.Make sure that water temperature is maintained below 54 degrees C recommended maximum is 49 degrees C.

      • A leak was observed under the handwashing sink in the pre-school senior room.Make sure to repair the indicated handwashing sink.

      • All the bathrooms in the facility needs extensive cleaning: around the sink and toilet seat.** Include the children stepping stools in the bathrooms in the routine cleaning schedule **.

      • Extensive buildup of dust was observed on the air vents in the blue room and infant room.Ensure to clean the air vents thoroughly to prevent the circulation of dust and allergens, and to maintain good indoor air quality and ventilation efficiency.

      • Chemicals like bleach and Draino were observed to be stored underneath the handwash sink located in washrooms throughout the facility without child safety locks.The operator promptly removed the dangerous chemicals. Please ensure areas easily accessible to children are free of chemicals at all times.
    • 04. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Non-Critical)?
      • 1) The lids of sensory bottles located in the Pink Room (infant) were not securely fastened.Please glue the lids onto the sensory bottles to prevent potential choking hazards.2) Staples were used on the bulletin board beside the fridge located in the red room.Please ensure tape is used to cover the staples to prevent accidental injuries.3) Pins were used on the bulletin board located in the green room.Please remove the pins and use an alternative to secure items on the bulletin board.

      • Tweezers were missing from the first aid kit located in the infant room.Please equip all first aid kits throughout the facility with tweezers. Implement a checklist to ensure first aid kits are fully stocked.

      • The nosing on the steps leading to the green room was loose.Please repair the indicated area to prevent accidental fall injuries.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • 1) Dirt and debris were observed deep in the crevices where the straps are attached on changing stations throughout the daycare.Please clean and sanitize the indicated areas.2) The artificial leather of the red hand chair located in the blue room was peeling.Please remove the chair or replace it with a chair that is smooth, easy to clean, and impervious to contaminants.3) Food crumbs were observed under the glass top covering a table located in the red room.Please remove the glass top and clean and sanitize the surfaces underneath.4) The black since table located in the green room was soiled with dirt and debris.Please clean and sanitize the indicated area.5) Plastic table liners were observed to be peeling in the orange room.Please replace the plastic table liners to ensure the surfaces do not trap contaminants.

      • Mouth toy bin was unavailable in the toddler room.Please obtain a mouth toy bin.

      • The shelving unit used to store the teacher’s supplies located in the blue room was disorganized and unstable, posing a potential risk of items falling on the children.Please reorganize the supplies to prevent accidental falling of items.

      • Part of a baseboard was missing in the montessori washroom. - Install A light was burnt in the montessori washroom.- Replace

      • Infant room: A plastic table for eating had grooves and was mended with tape. -Ensure that food contact surfaces are moisture resistant and easy to clean.

      • The before and after school room's bathroom door handle is loose, leaving a gap where the knob is.Please repair the door knob so it is working as designed.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • The Pink room's freezer door handle was broken and covered with tape. Tape cannot be cleaned and sanitized. Please remove, repair or replace the handle so the surface is smooth, non-absorbent and easily cleanable.

      • In the red room, the lego topped table had built up dirt and debris.Please clean the table and maintain cleanliness.
