      • There is no handwash sink in the kitchen. The cook currently uses one of the two compartment sinks to handwash for cooking.Discussion was had regarding the lack of a handwashing station in the kitchen. Discussed that a hand washing station is required separate from for the food preparation area. Requested that a conversation be had with management and ownership regarding a plan to install a hand washing basin in the kitchen. Food Regulation:An operator must ensure that, before operation of the commercial food establishment commences, the commercial food establishment has handwashing stations that are adequate in number and situated so as to ensure convenient access by all food handlers.Food Code:a) At least one handwash station should be provided in each food preparation area. It must comply with the provisions of the Alberta Building Code to the extent deemed necessary by the regulatory authority.b) Handwash facilities should:i) be located to allow convenient use by food handlers in the food preparation area, and in areas where workers are handling cash as well as serving food;ii) be accessible for the use of workers at all times;iii) not be used for purposes other than handwashing;
