- In the washroom, both handwashing sinks were not operational. The diapering station was observed to be in use at the time of inspection. The operator was advised to relocate the diapering station closer to the handwashing sink in the other washroom or to make alternative arrangements to ensure immediate handwashing following diapering and toilet use.Repair of the handwashing sinks must be arranged at the earliest convenience.

- 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
- Chlorine sanitizer was noted at 50ppm at the diapering station. The sanitizer spray bottle was drained and refilled with sanitizer solution 100ppm chlorine solution.Ensure sanitizer concentration is maintained 100ppm for chlorine.

- Foods and cutting board with knife were noted on the hand sink. The foods and utensils were removed from the sink during inspection. Operator was advised to do all food prep/handling at surface away from the hand sink.

- Chlorine sanitizer concentration was measured at 50ppm. All spray bottles were prepared by one staff members in the morning therefore all bottles were collected, drained and refilled with chlorine solution with 100ppm concentration.

- 1-Rust and debris build up was noted inside the washer. Maintain laundry in a sanitary condition and in good repair.2-Kids furniture was noted with surfaces non-cleanable, disrepair and absorbent to moisture. Resurface or remove the items. Ensure all surfaces are in good repair.

- Through out the facility, hand sink was noted being used for dishwashing, bottles washes, bib washing. Operators were advised onsite that all dishes and other items must be washed using approved manual dishwashing 3 step method i.e wash, rinse and sanitize in 2 compartment sink located in the kitchen or in the dishwasher with sani cycle. Hand sinks must be used for handwashing only.

- Furnace of the east side of the facility has been broken down. Space heaters were noted being used to produce heat. Heaters of infant room and jr toddler rooms were noted being turned off for an unknown reason. Ambient temperatures were measured as 17 and 15 degrees Celsius respectively using infra red thermometer. There was extra space in gym area of facility located at west side with functional furnace. Operator was advised to move children to gym area.

- Items such as tattoo stickers, glowsticks, and deflated ballons that stated they are inappropriate for children under 3 years old were found in the infant room. Operator removed items from the room.Ensure that every room has toys that are appropriate for the ages of the children in the room.

- The diapering station in the washroom had buildup debris on the corners and edges.Operator cleaned and disinfected the above-mentioned area. Ensure that all diapering stations in the facility are cleaned and disinfected after every use.

- Bleach test strips were expired in 2021. Operator stated they have ordered a new set of test strips, with an arrival date of December 16, 2023.Ensure that all mixed disinfectant solutions are tested with test strips to confirm the appropriate disinfectant concentrations.

- An open plastic bag filled with garbage was stored on a cabinet of the senior toddlers room. Operator disposed of the plastic bag. Ensure garbage is stored in a clean and sanitary condition by using a water-tight/impervious container

- The wallpaper in the infant room was peeling off the wall. Operator removed the peeling wallpaper.Ensure that the wallpaper is repaired or removed to prevent hazards to children.
