- Facility specific written procedures were not in place. Complete the following written procedures and ensure they are easily accessible for all staff. 1. The cleansing of skin and mucous membrane. - 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
- The following written procedures was not available in the facility: 1. Skin cleansing procedure2. Accidental skin cuts procedure 3. Before and after care procedures-Ensure there is written procedures for preparation of the skin before waxing client care for accidental cuts and the before and after care used for assessing the client skin before waxing.
- 10. Is cleansing and antisepsis of skin and mucous membrane performed in accordance to written procedures and are suitable products being used?
- The operator stated antiseptics are not being used after cleansing client skin.-Ensure antiseptics like alcohol is applied after cleansing sink before waxing to removing any microbes.
- 14. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Non-Critical)?
- There was hair debris on eyebrow brushes stored in the upper shelves at the waxing room.-Ensure all single use items are discarded and reuseable items are kept clean and stored correctly
- 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
- 1. No record of high-level disinfectant testing was kept. -Test high level disinfectant (log template sent in email) daily and keep record of testing if reused within 14days. 2. The disinfectant test strips onsite had expired-Ensure there is always valid test strips available

- Single use sticks were being stored inside the open jars of exfoliant scrub at the pedicure stations.-Ensure jars are covered to prevent contamination.-Ensure sticks are used once into the bulk and discarded. Do not store sticks in the scrub. -Avoid double dipping

- The nail polish set, and container left on some of the manicure tables appeared to be dusty.-Clean and disinfecting manicure area after each client.
