      • Operator was again found to be operating without a permit.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • Corrected: the particleboard has been removed. The wall in the washroom is still in disrepair and requires resurfacing.1. a piece of absorbent particleboard is beneath the coffee makers and cannot be properly cleaned and sanitized. 2. A wall has been removed in the washroom area leaving exposed studs and there is loose wallpaper exposing drywall beneath. Walls in the washroom must be smooth, non-absorbent and easily cleanable. Have the edge of the wall surfaced with a washable material.

      • No sanitizer was present for use on food contact surfaces. An approved sanitizer with appropriate test strips is necessary to properly sanitize all food contact surfaces and washing/sanitizing stand in place equipment.
    • 11. Are there adequate and properly operating dish washing facilities to effectively clean and sanitize equipment and utensils (unless noted elsewhere)(Critical)?
      • There is only a single sink in the facility for dishwashing and no sanitizer solution. At a minimum a two-compartment sink is required to wash, rinse and sanitize the scoops and milkshake utensils/equipment. This type of sink can be used for hand washing as well, based on the level of food handling. A sanitizing step is required after washing and rinsing to reduce microbial loads to safe levels.
    • 12. Are there adequate and properly operating dish washing facilities to effectively clean and sanitize equipment and utensils (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
      • No test strips present to verify the concentration of sanitizer.
    • 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
      • Hand sinks were not properly supplied with liquid soap and paper towel in dispensers. Please ensure hand sinks are properly supplied.

      • Ice cream scoops were being stored in room temperature water without proper cleaning and sanitizing between uses.Ensure scoops are stored in a manner that prevents bacterial growth and contamination.

      • Changes made to the sinks was not submitted for approval. Sink requirements must be met.
