- -Foam shapes in the Toddler and Pre-school Room had bite marks and missing pieces. This is a potential choking hazard and makes the shapes difficult to clean. Please remove all damaged foam shapes. These shapes are not recommended in Baby and Toddler Rooms.

- -Bibs were being stored directly above the diaper sink in the Toddler Room. Please ensure that the diapering space is used for diapering only and not used to store anything else. The bibs were removed at the time of inspection.

- - There was a diapering mat stored on the floor of the washroom. Please store the diaper mat out of reach of children.-The diaper mat in the washroom had holes. Please repair/replace.

- - The Chlorine test strips had expired. Please ensure new test strips are available.

- -The sealant behind the washroom sink on the main floor and the OSC classrooms sink was cracked. Please repair/replace to make a waterproof seal.

- - There was no hand soap at the washroom sink on the main floor. It was replaced at the time of inspection. Please ensure that handwashing supplies are available at all hand sinks at all times.

- - First aid supplies were old/expired and need to be replaced. Please ensure first aid supplies are replaced to meet requirements and are maintained regularly. There are new requirements for first aid supplies. Please refer to Appendix H of the “Alberta Health Services Childcare Guidelines.” The list of supplies should be printed out so that regular audits can be completed.

- -There were containers of expired disinfectants in the facility. They were disposed of at the time of inspection. Please ensure expiry dates for disinfectants are checked regularly.

- -The fridge in the Pre-school Room was measured at 7C, which is too warm. Please ensure the fridge is maintained at 4C or less

- - In the infant room, the flooring tile near the handwash sink is still in disrepair. The tile is cracked and depressed into the subfloor. Please ensure the tile is repaired to facilitate proper cleaning and disinfection of the flooring surface and to promote a clean and sanitary environment.

- - The handwash sink in the infant room has a faucet handle that needs to be repaired. The handle is loose and can be taken off when using the sink. Please ensure the handwash sink faucet handle is repaired to ensure access to handwashing within the infant room.

- - There is still no light cover in the washroom outside of the preschool room. Please ensure a light cover is installed to minimize the risk of a physical hazards (e.g., broken glass).

- - Please ensure chemicals such as bleach spray bottles and other chemical cleaners are restricted from child access at all times. When chemicals are not in use, please store them in an area that is restricted with a child safety lock to minimize the risk of chemical hazards and toxicity.

No high-risk foods were present in the refrigerator at the time. It was advised that no foods be stored in the refrigerator until the temperature is in compliance or the refrigerator is replaced.

- - In the toddler room, please remove the refrigeration unit that is not being used. The refrigeration unit is registering a temperature of 12.6 degrees Celsius. Staff indicated that this refrigeration unit that is one of two units in the room will be removed. -Ensure all refrigeration units maintain a temperature of 4 degrees Celsius or less to ensure safe food preservation.
