- Observation(s): No sanitizer is currently being used at the facility. No test strips available at the time of inspection.
- F2.1A Sanitizer test strips must be available for each chemical sanitizer used at the premises.
- F2.3 Are food contact surfaces, utensils and equipment washed and sanitized in a manner that removes/prevents contamination?
- Observation(s): 1. Facility has a two compartment sink to wash equipment used in coffee roasting. Operator explained that equipment/utensils are washed in warm soap water, rinsed, then air dried. No sanitizing step is currently occurring, though hydrogen peroxide was formally used for this step. A sanitizing step must occur to ensure any potential contamination on the equipment/utensils is removed. 2. A cleaner is being used on food contact surfaces, but an approved sanitizer (e.g. hydrogen peroxide, QUAT, or chlorine bleach) is not. A sanitizer should be used following a cleaning step to ensure all pathogens on the food contact surfaces have been removed.
