    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • -There were push pins in the bulletin board above children’s personal items in the hallway. Due to the risk of pins falling into children’s personal items, please use an alternative such as sticky tac, tape, Velcro etc
    • 04. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Non-Critical)?
      • -The Chlorine spray bottle in the girls washroom was stored accessible to children. Please ensure the spray bottle is stored out of children’s reach.
    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • -The diapering space in the Baby/Toddler Room is not being kept adequately separate from other activities; this increases the risk of cross contamination. There were bibs and clean cloths stored on the counter next to the sink and toy storage on the shelf directly next to the diaper table. Please ensure diapering is completely separate from all other activities.
    • 15. Is laundry being properly handled in a suitable manner?
      • -Cleaning cloths were being washed by hand. Please ensure cloths are mechanically washed/dried or switch to using paper towel only.
    • 17. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Critical)?
      • -Chlorine was measured at greater than 1000ppm. Please switch to a 100ppm Chlorine solution.-Test strips were not available. Please ensure test strips are available.-The Chlorine spray bottle in the girls washroom did not work. Please ensure a working bottle is used.
    • 24. Are sleeping supplies and areas sufficient to ensure client safety and comfort (Non-Critical)?
      • -Bedding provided for use in this social care facility is not being stored properly and/or is not being protected from contamination. Sheets were stored overtop of stacked cots. Please ensure that sheets/blankets are stored in the middle of cots to prevent them from touching.
    • 28. Are washrooms / bathing facilities properly constructed, maintained and supplied (Critical)?
      • A washroom for this social care facility is not being kept in a clean condition. The urinals in the boy’s washroom were visibly stained. Please clean.-Potty seats were being stored on the washroom floor. Please ensure seats are stored on hooks or in another designated area up off of the floor.
    • 30. Are workers washing hands when appropriate and/or in a proper manner?
      • -Alcohol-based hand rub (ABHR) in the Pre-school room was expired. Please replace.
