    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • Several chemicals such as Lysol toilet bowl cleaner were observed in an unlocked cabinet beneath the handwashing sink in the baby room. Ensure all chemicals are stored in a location that is not accessible to children. The operator relocated the indicated chemicals during inspection.
    • 10. Is a properly supplied first aid kit provided and readily available?
      • Several expired alcohol wipes were observed in the first aid kit in the preschool room. Ensure any expired products are removed and/or replaced. The operator removed the indicated expired wipes during the inspection.
    • 21. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Critical)?
      • The hot water temperature at the handwashing sink in the washroom in the preschool room was measured at a maximum temperature of 56.8 degrees Celsius with a probe thermometer. Ensure the hot water temperature is adjusted to a maximum of 54 degrees Celsius. The recommended maximum is 49 degrees Celsius.

    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • A fabric sheet was observed on the diapering pad in the infant room, which is not smooth, resistant to moisture and easy to clean and/or disinfect. Please ensure the diapering pad remains smooth, impervious to moisture and easy to clean. The operator removed the indicated fabric sheet during the inspection to expose the smooth wipeable surface.
    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?
      • A small section of the flooring in the OSC washroom was observed to be lifting and is no longer smooth, easy to clean and resistant to moisture. Please ensure the indicated section of flooring is repaired to be smooth, easily cleanable and moisture resistant.
    • 21. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Critical)?
      • The hot water temperature at the faucet in the bathtub in the basement was measured at 59 degrees Celsius with a probe thermometer. Please adjust the hot water temperature to be below 49 degrees Celius. The recommended maximum temperature is 43 degrees Celsius.
    • 22. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. The handwashing sink furthest from the door in the Kinder area was observed to be leaking from the pipes beneath the sink. 2. A leak was observed from the pipes beneath the handwashing sink located second from the entrance door to the washroom in the OSC area. 3. The handwashing sink faucet handle on the sink closest to the door in the Kinder area was observed to leaking. 1-3. Ensure the indicated leaks are repaired.

    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • -Wear was noted on four sleeping mats. The operator removed the mats onsite. Please ensure all surfaces are smooth and easily cleanable.-The toilet tank cover in the downstairs washroom was missing. The owner provided photos of the toilet with a proper cover.-One step on the short stairs in the basement had gaps and unfinished corners. Photos of the repaired step were received.
    • 22. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Non-Critical)?
      • -The hot water temperature at the sink in the upstairs washroom measured at 57C using an IR and probe thermometer. Please adjust the temperature. The recommended maximum temperature is 49C.-Low water pressure was noted at the small hand sink in the preschool room.-No warm water was detected at the hand sink in the toddler room.Please fix. Ensure that all sinks are properly maintained, have sufficient water pressure, and provide warm water to support effective handwashing.
