      • Some walls are not finished/ smooth, non-porous and easy to clean. - Washroom stall near infant room appears to have a patch.- Some areas require sanding/painting.

    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • Diapering is not occurring as close as reasonably possible to the handwashing basin. The hand washing basin is to be directly adjacent to the diapering area on a dedicated surface. The handwashing basin in question should not be used for any purposes other than handwashing.

      • Bedding is being separated but sheets are being left on the cots when stored together. Sheets are to either be laundered between use, or kept separate with clients bedding, and then laundered weekly.

      • Walls thought the facility appears to be in disrepair (i.e. infant room observed a large hole in the wall, exposed drywall etc). Ensure all areas impervious to moisture.Windowsill in the kinder/osc and preschool room appears to be in disrepair. Ensure all areas are impervious to moisture and easily cleanable. Door handle for cupboards were observed to be missing in a few rooms (i.e. toddler room and front toddler room)

      • Soap and other chemicals observed to be stored in cupboards accessible to children. This was corrected during inspection.
    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • Approved disinfectant for diapering areas not observed. The solution used appears to be a QUAT solution. This not an approved sanitizer/disinfectant for diapering areas.Diapering mattress in disrepair (holes were observed). Ensure all areas are impervious to moisture and easily cleanable.

      • Overall cleanliness appears to be needing to be improved. Debris in cupboards where clean cups/utensils were stored was observed. Stained cupboard doors observed. Stained walls observed. What appear to be used cloths observed to be stored on the counters or on top of sanitizer bottles.Ventilation appears to have dust accumulation in the front toddler room.

      • Cleaning and disinfection of toys appears to have not been completed for the past couple weeks as per the operator. Ensure cleaning and sanitizing is done at least every week and records are maintained (last cleaning marked on the cleaning schedule was in March, 2024).

    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • The diapering mat on the elevated diapering bed had no safety belt.Please ensure the diapering surface is supplied with a safety belt.
    • 20. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Non-Critical)?
      • A 22.5 inches high slide was observed in the Toddler 1 room, the fall protection surface (foam mat) did not appear adequate, the mat extended about 2 feet around the structure. Please ensure proper fall protection surfacing is provided. The mat should be at least 2 inches thick and extend at least 6ft around the slide structure.
