      • Some of the child locks throughout the facility were not properly engaged, allowing access to potential hazards located in program rooms.Locks were corrected during inspection.

      • Test strips to verify the concentration of ammonium chloride disinfectant used to clean indoor play equipment did not have a correct measurement range. Provide suitable quats test strips to verify disinfectant concentration.

      • The tree play structure in the toddler indoor play area has a damaged section partially covered with duct tape.Cover or repair damaged surface to ensure surface is smooth and easily cleanable.

      • An area carpet by the play kitchen in the Our Discovery Gym room was visibly dirty and had a buildup of sand underneath the rug.-Clean carpet.-Ensure that regular vacuuming of floors and steam washing of carpet are carried out. Lift area carpet and vaccum beneath the carpet when carrying out routine cleaning.

      • The cupboard containing baking soda, vinegar, mice traps and other hazardous items beneath the handwash station in Our discovery Gym was left unlocked.-Ensure that cupboards containing hazardous items are securely locked to prevent easy access by the children in the facility.
    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?
      • The wall paint in the following rooms were chipping off:1. Whales, between the notice boards2. Dolphins, between the window and the notice board.3. Busy bees, beneath notice board adjacent the shelves.4. Our discover Gym, behind the television.5.The village square- beside the yellow door at the Stage area and at the vet clinic wall-Ensure the paint are repaired to keep surface smooth, easily cleanable and impervious to moisture.

      • There was no handwashing soap in the soap dispenser in the blue door washroom.-Ensure there is always handwashing soap available

      • Some of the first aid kits in the back bag located in the following rooms had expire alcohol wipes:1. Whales2. Our Toddle Gym-Ensure the first aid kits are checked regularly and updated as needed.

      • 1. The plastic covering of the diaper changing pad in the Sunbeams room was broken and cannot be adequately clean.-Replace diaper pad.2. The baby cots in the Sunbeams room are visibly dirty.-Ensure cots are clean even when not in use to maintain cleanliness of the facility.3. There were debris underneath the diaper pad in Our Toddler Gym.-Ensure cleanliness of underneath the diaper pad at all times.4. An area carpet by the play kitchen in the Our Discovery Gym room was visibly dirty and had a buildup of sand underneath the rug.-Clean carpet.-Ensure that regular vacuuming of floors and steam washing of carpet are carried out. Lift area carpet and vaccum beneath the carpet when carrying out routine cleaning.

      • 1. The water pressure of the tap was low in the orange door washroom in Dolphin room.-Increase water pressure.2 The temperature of the running water from the staff and children handwashing stations measured 24-25 degrees Celsius.-Ensure there is adequate hot and cold running water for proper handwashing.

      • The handwashing sink in blue door washroom in the Dolphin room was dirty.-Clean and disinfect handwashing sink.-Ensure cleaning is done regularly.

      • One of the bins used to store toys in the "Village" room was broken. Staff removed the broken bin during the inspection.**Please ensure that all toys/bins/equipment in the facility are maintained in good repair to prevent injury.

      • The 3-drawer cupboard beside the 1-compartment sink in the turtle room containing paper clips and other hazardous materials had a child safety lock but was not securely locked. Staff locked the cupboard during the inspection.**Please ensure that cupboards containing hazardous items are securely locked to prevent easy access to the children in the facility.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. The plastic covering of the diaper changing pad in the Turtle room was broken and cannot be adequately clean.**Please replace diaper pad.2. An area rug by the play kitchen in the turtle room was visbly dirty and had a build up of sand underneath the rug.**Please clean.**Ensure that regular vacuuming of floors and steam washing of rugs are carried out. Lift area rugs and vaccum beneath the rugs when carrying out routine cleaning.
