      • 1. The door handle on the sliding door to the preschool room is loose and coming off at the bottom.2. The ledge along the front window in the preschool room is chipping and damaged.1. Please repair the door handle.2. Please refinish and repaint the ledge so that it is smooth, easy to clean, and in good repair.

    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. The top of the railing on the cribs in the infant room is peeling/chipped.2. The front ledge at the windows in the preschool and toddler room is damaged and chipping. 1 and 2. Ensure all areas are smooth, easy to clean, and impervious to moisture.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • There are various tall shelves that are not properly secured to the wall. This include the brown book shelf and brown/green shelf in the pre-k room and the white shelf near the bulletin board in the toddler room. Please ensure all tall shelving and bookcases are properly mounted or secured to the wall to prevent any tipping hazards.
    • 22. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Non-Critical)?
      • The hand wash sink in the washroom that is shared between the pre-k and preschool room has very low water pressure. Please ensure all hand wash sinks have proper water pressure and hot and cold running water to facilitate proper hand washing.

      • There are thumbtacks/push pins on the bulletin boards and walls in the infant, toddler, and pre-k rooms.Please remove all thumbtacks/push pins and replace with a safer alternative as the thumbtacks/push pins can be a choking and sharps hazard.
    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. The change table is broken and taped up in the infant room.2. The top of the railing on the cribs in the infant room is peeling/chipped.3. The front ledge at the windows in the preschool and toddler room is damaged and chipping. 1. Replace the diapering change mat or table.2-3. Ensure all areas are smooth, easy to clean, and impervious to moisture.

      • The hand wash sink in the washroom that is shared between the pre-k and preschool room has very low water pressure. Please ensure all hand wash sinks have proper water pressure and hot and cold running water to facilitate proper hand washing.
    • 24. Are sleeping supplies and areas sufficient to ensure client safety and comfort (Non-Critical)?
      • The children's bedsheets and blankets were stored all together in one container underneath the crib in the infant room.Please ensure each child's personal bedsheet and blanket is stored individually and separate from one another. Each child's bedding cannot be touching one another.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • There are various bleach surface sanitizer bottles throughout the classrooms that are either too strong or too weak in concentration. They varied from 50 ppm to over 1000 ppm.Please ensure the bleach surface sanitizer concentration is maintained at 100 ppm. Mix 1/2 teaspoon of bleach with 1 litre of water. A 1000 ppm bleach solution can be used during outbreaks or regularly as long as a second wipe step is being done (mix 4 tsp of bleach in 1 litre of water).

    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • The chemical room/laundry room was left open. The door of the chemical room leads to the pre-kindergarten classroom. Please keep the chemical room closed at all times to limit children's access.
    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • A bin with water bottles was stored on the diaper change table. The bin was removed from the diapering area during the inspection. The diapering area must not be used for any other activity aside diapering to prevent the risk of cross-contamination.
