    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • 1. Cleaning/disinfecting chemicals were observed in an unlocked cupboard below the handwash sink in room 2. This cupboard is within reach to children. Please keep the cupboard locked to restrict access to kids. 2. A can of shaving cream that is unsafe for children's use was on a shelve in the BAS classroom.Please discard the shaving cream and obtain natural, non-toxic shaving cream products or alternative solutions.

      • 1. Bingo dabbers that are unsafe for children's use were observed on a shelve in room 1. Discard the bingo dabbers. obtain a non-toxic children safe alternative for use in the childcare facility.2. Several electrical outlets in rooms 1 and 2 had no safety cover. Cover all electrical outlets with approved safety covers.3. Tall cubbies in the BAS classroom near the washroom area were unsecured. Secure the tall cubbies to the wall to prevent them from falling or causing tripping hazard. 4. There were missing light shields in the kitchen and room 3. Replace all missing light shields in the facility.

      • 1. Transition strip was missing from floor tile in the BAS classroom near the washroom area.Please replace missing transition strip. Floors, walls and ceiling in the childcare facility must be smooth, easy to clean and impervious to moisture. 2. A shelve by the aquarium in the BAS classroom had large paint chips making it difficult to clean. Please refinish/paint the surface of the shelve.

      • Expired antiseptic wipes observed in the first aid kits of room 1 and BAS classroom. Replace all expired antiseptic wipes.

      • There is 1 washroom/toilet located downstairs in the BAS/OOSC program. Please ensure another washroom/toilet is installed as there must be 1 washroom/toilet for girls and 1 for boys.*** Update January 24th 2024***A second washroom is being developed for the BAS program. Not inspected on this visit.
