      • Children had access to sliding windows located in room 1. The windows were easily unlockable and could potentially create a risk of accidental injury.Please block off access to the windows to prevent potential accidents.
    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • Paint brushes were observed being stored on the diaper changing station, creating a potential risk of cross-contamination.The operator was instructed to remove the paint brushes from the area and was educated on the importance of keeping the diaper changing station free of non-diapering related items to prevent cross-contamination and maintain a sanitary environment.
    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • Paper towels were missing at the standalone handwash sink located in room 3.The operator promptly equipped the handwash station with paper towels.

      • The bathroom handwash sink located in room 1 was slow draining.Please repair the handwash sink to ensure it is adequately draining.

      • Acrylic paint bottles were observed in baby and toddler classrooms.-Please remove the indicated paint bottles and provide craft materials that are non-toxic, washable, and age-appropriate for each group.
    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • Hand drying paper towels were kept in open baskets in all facility's washrooms and diapering station.-Please provide suitable paper towels dispensers to prevent bulk contamination of the paper towels.
    • 10. Is a properly supplied first aid kit provided and readily available?
      • First aid kits missing emergency blankets.-Please provide the required item in all facility's first aid kits.

      • 1. Dirty and torn mats were observed in baby and school age classrooms.-Please replace and /or clean the indicated mats to ensure sanitary condition.2 Damaged rattan wood toy container with sharp protruding edges was noted in the school age classroom.-Please replace the container to prevent potential injury.

      • Black mold and ineffective caulking were observed around the hand sink in kindergarten/older preschool classroom.-Please clean and apply new silicon sealant to the indicated area to ensure good repair.

      • There were no screens on some windows in baby and kindergarten/older preschool classrooms.-Please provide suitable screens for the indicated windows to prevent insect entry.

      • Hot water temperature was measured above 60 degrees Celsius in all classrooms' washrooms.-Please lower and maintain hot water temperature to between 43-49'C to prevent the risk of scalding.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • Lots of materials were observed stored on the floor in the storage areas behind Out of School Care room and under the stairway.-Please declutter the indicated areas, store materials above the ground so that it can be easy to clean and monitor to ensure no pest activity.

      • 1. The concentration of the bleach solution used as surface disinfectant was not adequate, the concentrate was measured at 50ppm in all the classrooms.-Please ensure the concentration of the bleach solution is 100ppm by testing with appropriate test strips daily.2. Dirty light switches and doorknob observed in room 4 washroom.-Please clean and sanitize the indicated frequently touched areas regularly.Also, develop cleaning and sanitizing schedule for various surfaces in the daycare.
