      • Please complete written procedures for:- cleansing of skin- application of an antiseptic- accidental cut and puncture

      • Several foot files were being used on-site that were not cleanable. These were removed during the inspection. Files must be single use or a type that can be cleaned and disinfected (ie, metal).
    • 25. Are the equipment manufacturer's instructions for use of specific equipment available and followed?
      • Manufacturer's instructions for use for IPL machine were not available at time of inspection. Ensure these are available.

    • 15. Is reusable equipment handled and stored properly (Critical)?
      • Single use nail files and buffing blocks that appeared worn were stored in drawer at the pedicure station with a wooden foot file that was not cleanable and with various other nail tools. The single use equipment was discarded during inspection and foot file removed. Ensure tools are stored in a manner that protects them from contamination. Damaged or used equipment must be discarded/cleaned immediately after use.

      • There was no high level disinfectant on-site for disinfecting semi-critical tools. Ensure high level disinfectant is available for semi-critical tools.

      • Tip of hydrafacial machine was dirty. It was cleaned and disinfected during inspection. Ensure all equipment is cleaned with soap and water and disinfected properly.

      • Hot water valve at hand sink in washroom was turned off. This was turned on during the inspection. Ensure all hand sinks have hot and cold running water.
