      • Approximately 10 nail nippers were found to be rusted at the point of use.The operator voluntarily discarded all the rusted equipment.
    • 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
      • A bottle stored with other disinfectants was not labelled.The operator was advised to label the bottle appropriately for safe use.
    • 33. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this personal services facility (Non-Critical)?
      • Chocolates were being stored in a drawer along with soiled semi-critical tools.The operator was asked to remove food items from the client service area.

    • 15. Is reusable equipment handled and stored properly (Critical)?
      • - Contaminated equipment is not adequately separated and identifiable from clean equipment. Used tools for eyelash extensions were being kept in a clean storage area. Ensure contaminated equipment is stored completely separate from clean equipment to prevent contamination of clean equipment.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • -Pre-empt RTU had expired in 2022. Ensure disinfectants used in the facility are not expired.- High level disinfectants are not being tested and verified daily using proper test strips and disinfection records were not available. Ensue the high level disinfectant is tested daily using the test strips specified by the disinfectant manufacturer. Ensure records are kept of: test dates, whether the solution passed/failed, when the disinfectant was changed and the worker’s initials who performed the activity.-The container used to soak tools was full of a clear liquid; Pre-empt CS20 is yellow. Please ensure Pre-empt CS20 is used at full strength and in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.-Alcohol was being used to disinfect surfaces. This is not an approved surface disinfectant. Please use a disinfectant that is meant for surfaces.

      • - Steps are not being taken to protect the contamination of the bulk supply of foot scrub. Please ensure that measures are put in place so foot scrub is dispensed without contaminating the bulk supply. Do not store the scoop inside.

      • - Client handwashing is occurring at the reprocessing sink
