    • 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
      • Detailed facility-specific written procedures were available for skin cleansing, but not for dual-use sink decontamination. The operator mentioned they have a sink decontamination procedure, it was just not in writing. A template for this procedure was provided by email with this inspection report.
    • 15. Is reusable equipment handled and stored properly (Critical)?
      • Reusable equipment is handled and stored properly, with the sole exception of mints and gum stored alongside brushes for personal/client-use. The operator removed these personal items during the inspection. Please keep personal items separate from equipment and products used for the personal service provided.
    • 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
      • Makeup products were used appropriately and for their intended purpose, but labelling containing the entire ingredients list and manufacturer instructions for use were only available for some of the products used. Please have labels for all products used that have full ingredients lists, as well as manufacturer instructions for use available with you on-site where the personal services are being performed.
    • 30. Is the reprocessing area of a personal service facility that uses reusable equipment properly designed, managed and maintained to ensure the safety of clients?
      • Reprocessing of brushes was occurring in the kitchen sink according to the operator. The PHI trainee explained to the operator that reprocessing of brushes in the kitchen may lead to possible cross-contamination with food-particles and other contaminants, and the operator agreed to reprocess brushes and tools in the sink upstairs. The new reprocessing area is properly designed, well maintained, and well-stocked.
