- 08. Is hand hygiene performed by the personal services worker when required, in a proper manner and are provisions available to perform hand hygiene?
- The handwashing sink in the common area did not equip with sanitary hand drying option, and soap was not equipped in a dispenser. - Ensure a sanitary hand drying option (ie, disposable paper towel in a dispenser) is equipped, and soap is provided in a dispenser.
- 12. Are personal services workers at the facility maintaining client records and where applicable, sterility documentation corresponding to that client?
- The sterility information from pre-sterilized equipment was not retained for tractility. - Ensure the sterility information is retained, including the brand, lot number and expiration date.
- 21. Is equipment that is intended to be sterile maintained sterile at the point of use?
- Expired cartilages were found in the storage cabinet. Sterility is no longer guaranteed pass expiration date. - Ensure manufacturer instructions are followed, discard any expired cartilages.One box was discarded during inspection, please go thru the cabinet and discard any expired supply. Discontinue the service until valid cartilage is obtained.
