    • 19(1)(a) A food establishment must be located, designed, constructed and maintained to ensure all of the following: (a) that the risk of contaminating the food is minimized;
      • In accordance with section 2.15. d. of the Nova Scotia Food Retail and Food Services Code: Toilet rooms must not open directly into a food preparation or food storage area, and where toilet facilities are provided for the public, access to the washroom must not be through the food preparation areas or food storage areas. Do not use the staff washroom hand sink as the hand sink for the food preparation area. In order to comply with Section 2.15. d. of the Code, you must keep both doors to the staff washroom closed.

    • 19(2)(b) A food establishment must provide all of the following in accordance with applicable legislation or as considered acceptable by the Administrator: (b) adequately designed and appropriately located hand-washing facilities;
      • The paper towel dispenser in the staff washroom was empty. Replace the paper towels in the dispenser.

    • 19(2)(b) A food establishment must provide all of the following in accordance with applicable legislation or as considered acceptable by the Administrator: (b) adequately designed and appropriately located hand-washing facilities;
      • Hand washing station in the staff washroom did not have soap in the soap dispenser. Hand washing station in the kitchen did not have paper towel in the paper towel dispenser. Keep the hand washing stations in the kitchen stocked with supplies to facilitate regular hand washing.
