- Food handler came into kitchen to start shift and began touching food equipment without washing his hands.
- All food handlers must wash hands before beginning work in the kitchen and when returning from a break or from the washroom.
- Critical Improper Cleaning, Sanitizing of Equipment and Utensils
- No sanitizer made up for onsite use in the kitchen.
- Staff should always prepare the bleach-water solution in a bucket as one of their first duties when beginning work in the kitchen.
- Food Handler Training
- Food handler working alone in the kitchen did not have FOOD SAFE. Front service staff do not have valid FOOD SAFE.
- Any food handler working alone in the kitchen and one front service area food handler must have FOOD SAFE certification. Please forward copies of certificates to Island Health by March 31, 2026.
- Operations and Maintenance/Other
- Bubble tea pearl containers not labeled with 4-hour window as requested in previous inspection reports.
- Please label the containers and ensure your staff follow the 4-hour discard rule. Alternatively, the pearls can be held in a small crock pot at 60C without any time limit. Comments Soap and paper towels at hand wash sink. Fridge temperatures good. Fridge temperature records kept. Sanitation satisfactory.
