      • Used single-use items were observed at manicure stations.Discard used single use items after use. Do not store them at manicure stations.

      • Some nail clippers and cuticle nippers were rusty.Discard rusty tools as they cannot be properly cleaned and disinfected.

      • Preempt RTU, used to disinfect surfaces and pedicure basins, had expired in December 2024. Obtain new disinfectant within its expiry date.

      • Pedicure basin fan impellers were not being opened, disassembled and cleaned and disinfected. Hair and other debris was observed inside and on the outside of the fan impellers. Pedicure basin fan impellers must be opened, disassembled, cleaned and disinfected.

      • After disinfecting reusable tools with CS20 for 20 minutes, tools were not receiving a final rinse.After disinfecting tools with CS20 for 20 minutes, rinse tools and then dry before using.

      • Towels present on the waxing service bed were soiled. Remove soiled towels from the waxing service bed. Ensure that linens are changed after each client.

      • Debris was observed on cloths being used to store nail tools in workstation drawers. Keep surfaces used to store tools clean and sanitary. Towels used for storing tools must be changed after each customer, or use a different surface that can be cleaned or disposed of between clients.

      • May 8, 2024:Some nail clippers and cuticle nippers were rusty.Discard rusty tools as they cannot be properly cleaned and disinfected.December 1, 2022:Several of the nail clippers were observed to have rust on them. Rusted surfaces cannot be properly cleaned. Repair or replace any damaged/rusted equipment.

Tools were not being dried before disinfection.Reusable semi-critical tools must be washed with soap and water, rinsed with fresh water, dried, disinfected, then rinsed once again, and dried.
