    • 04. Does the operator use approved methods for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, utensils, and surfaces?
      • Bleach solution in the spray bottle near the front counter measured approximately 50ppm chlorine. Solution was replaced at time of inspection, and measured 100ppm chlorine. Advised manager that bleach solution should be replaced every 1 to 2 days.
    • 05. Do food handlers refrain from handling food while ill and have acceptable attire and hygiene?
      • One staff member was observed blowing into a glove before placing the glove on their hand. The issue was discussed with the manager, who immediately spoke with the staff member and had them remove their gloves and wash their hands before putting new gloves on.
    • 10. Are food temperatures during storage and processing being controlled to maximize food safety?
      • Two crates of bagged milk were observed thawing at room temperature. Discussed proper thawing methods with the manager, and the milk was placed in the walk-in cooler at the time of inspection.

      • The back screen door is in poor repair. There is a gap between the screen panel and the door, and the screen has multiple holes in it.Please ensure the screen door is repaired prior to spring/ summer to prevent the entry of pests.

      • Eggs from an unapproved source were observed in the cooler. Please ensure food for personal use is kept in a separate area/refrigerator or stored at home.

      • Back screen door weather stripping was in disrepair; there were gaps in the door and light was observed coming through. Screen on the door was in disrepair.Please ensure this is repaired to prevent pest entry.

      • Food and grim buildup was observed under the deep fryer. Please ensure this is cleaned to prevent pest harborage. Hood ventilation had grease and dust built up on it. Please ensure it is cleaned to prevent food contamination.

      • Prep cooler at the front measured 19.2 degree Celsius. Prep cooler contained cheese, sauces, and cut vegetables. Operator moved the medium and high risk items into the other cooler.Please ensure that the food items are kept at 4 degree Celsius or under. If the prep cooler requires repairs, please have it repaired.
    • 10. Are food temperatures during storage and processing being controlled to maximize food safety?
      • Milk bags were left outside at room temperature. Operator corrected this by putting them in the walk-in cooler. Please ensure that the milk products are kept at temperatures 4 degree Celsius or under. In order to defrost food, food must either be kept in the cooler, microwaved or held under running water.
