      • ***Discussed hand washing. Using a tissue to hold the cone was not a replacement for hand washing. Ensure hand washing is done every time prior to handling food.
    • 08. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
      • ***The operators were working on replacing the broken/damaged bulk candy containers. Showed the areas that were not cleanable as there were cracks/un-smooth surfaces. ***The open food bulk bins were in disrepair, cracked taped lids are not a sanitary food contact surface.
    • 09. Are chemicals stored and handled in a safe manner?
      • ***Spray bottle was not labeled as to the contents. Corrected during the inspection.
    • 12. Are there adequate and properly operating dish washing facilities to effectively clean and sanitize equipment and utensils (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
      • ***REPEAT CPNCERN: There were no test strips present for checking the sanitizer concentration.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • ***The operators were working on getting the door sweep corrected. Discussed that the gap present could allow vermin into the store.***The back door was not pest proof. Discussed the large gap under the door that could allow access for vermin into the facility.

      • ***There was no sanitizer solution for sanitizing the food contact surfaces.

      • ***Staff present did not wash their hands prior to handling and serving food. Discussed with him after the customer had left. Explained that hand washing was to be done even if there was no direct contact with food. Education provided.
