      • Surfaces of the waxing bed and pedicure chairs were cracked and not cleanable and in good repair. Install non-porous and impervious to moisture and easily cleanable seat covers and bed cover.

      • Hand sanitizer without NPN/DIN was noted at the reception. Ensure the hand sanitizer has NPN/DIN which indicates that the hand sanitizer is approved by Health Canada.
    • 24. Are waste sharps disposed of properly?
      • There was no puncture resistant sharp container to dispose of the sharps safely. Sharps were noted being disposed of in the empty bottle of disinfectant.Obtain a puncture resistant sharp container to allow safe disposal of the sharps.

      • Wax container was noted being in unsanitary condition. spillage of wax all over the exterior of the warmer was observed. There were no lids on the wax containers.Clean the exterior of the wax warmer and ensure the wax containers are covered to prevent the contamination of the contents.

      • Facility specific written procedures were not available review. AHS template was provided to complete the written procedures for client care and skin cleansing.Send copies of completed procedures to the undersigned.

      • 1-High level disinfectant (HLD) was reportedly not being used according to the manufacturer instructions for use.2-High level disinfectant (HLD) was not being tested prior to reuse every day.3-No HLD daily testing record was available for review.4-HLD test strips were expired.Obtain HLD test strips with valid expiry date. Test HLD prior to reuse daily and enter the test results in daily HLD Testing log form provided during inspection.Follow manufacturer's instructions for use for contact time for each disinfectant.

Reprocessing of semi-critical tools were performed in two hand washing stations located two corners in main service room.The room in the wax room was advised to be designated for reprocessing and install storage and sufficient shelf space for reprocessing of tools and air drying.
