- 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
- Baby room observed: staff was finishing diapering a child at the same time that EHO was trying to test the bleach spray concentration at the sink. The bottle was not spraying, nozzle was broken and almost empty. When EHO asked staff how they had been disinfecting the diaper pad all morning with a broken spray bottle they indicated that they had been too busy to ask director for a new one and just used the one next door( need to leave the room to access the next-door room). They proceeded to try to pour some of the solution onto facial tissue in attempt to disinfect. Staff was told to call the director at front desk and within min there was a new fresh bottle of disinfectant spray for use. * Each room has a phone, and staff must communicate their needs for health and safety of the children and can be done easily without leaving the room, even when busy. * Fresh bottle of bleach spray disinfectant needs to be done daily* Facial tissue is not acceptable for cleaning, paper towel only.
