- The operator is offering new services that was not notified to AHS in the past. Services include laser treatments, cosmetic puncturing (microneedling), energy-emitting treatments (high-frequency). - 17. Is reusable equipment cleaned properly (Critical)?
- There is debris in the paraffin wax warmer. The operator stated they do not clean the inside and just refill the warmer with new product. Ensure the paraffin wax warmer is regularly cleaned to remove debris. Refrain from topping off the warmer with new product. Finish the product in the warmer, then thoroughly clean, then refill with new product.
- 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
- Non-critical tools such as the facial wands are disinfected with alcohol. Non-critical tools that do not puncture the skin or is not in contact with mucous membranes must be disinfected with at least a low-level disinfectant or an intermediate disinfectant. The operator has Lysol wipes. Use the lysol wipes to disinfect the facial tools in between clients and ensure the manufacturer's instructions are followed.
