- Several cases of food are being stored on the floor of the walk-in and pails of food (veg in water) are being stored on the floor of the walk-in fridge. This is a repeat violation. Please ensure food is being stored off the floor to protect it from contamination and allow for proper cleaning of the walk-in floors.

- Test strips for the sanitizer in use could not be located during the inspection. Please ensure test strips for the sanitizer are readily available for use by staff to verify the concentration of sanitizer daily.

- No paper towel in the dispenser at the kitchen hand sink. Staff refilled during inspection.

- A lid on the oat bran container was broken and had cracked pieces that could fall into food below causing contamination. The top part of the tray holder was also broken and pieces could fall into items stored below.Please replace the broken pieces.

- Solution in bottles in kitchen did not register any sanitizer when tested on test strip. Staff advised to remix and were provided a few test strips.

- Tongs were being stored in the container of ice in the freezer in the dining area. Staff removed during inspection. Residents may leave tongs inside the container. Ensure residents are aware to leave tongs out of container (provide a lid, or post a sign on container). Food was being stored on the floor of the walk-in freezer. Ensure food is off the floor 6 inches to protect from contamination and facility cleaning.
