- 03. Is all food in this facility fit for human consumption and not unwholesome, spoiled, or adulterated?
- Expired liquid meal supplements were being offered to clients. Staff/volunteers removed items during inspection. Please ensure anything that has an expiry date is discarded or given out before the expiration date. This includes meal supplements and baby formula.
- 08. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
- Several food items were being stored directly on the floor. Floors should be clear for cleaning and to prevent places for pests to hide. Cases of beverages were being stored in the washroom. These were removed during the inspection. Please ensure food is stored off the floor 6 inches and outside of the washroom area.
- 10. Are food temperatures during storage and processing being controlled to maximize food safety?
- Frozen packages of beef and pork were being pulled at opening and left at room temperature throughout the morning to pack in hampers, often leaving hazardous food out for over 2 hours at room temperature.
- 14. Does the facility have an adequate supply of potable hot and cold running water and is the water sampled at required intervals?
- There was no hot water going to taps/sinks. Hot water is necessary for proper hand washing and dishwashing.
