      • The following areas require some cleaning:- The cupboards in the waxing room.-The black cupboard in the washroom.- The individual workstations.Ensure the following areas are in a clean condition always.

      • High level disinfectant is not used according to the manufactures contact time.Ensure the CS20 high level disinfectant is left to sit for 20 minutes, as indicated by the manufacturer's instructions.- Ensure high level disinfectant is also used for sanitizing all tools that accidentally come in contact with blood e.g the nail drill.

    • 05. Are written procedures reviewed and revised when required, and do they meet the requirements set out in the standards?
      • Staff are using a UV sterilizer on site with no manufacturer's instructions. Please ensure manufacturer's instructions are available for each type of equipment used in the facility. Staff removed the UV sterilizer during the inspection.Should the facility wish to use the UV sterilizer as a secondary disinfection step the following is required: -Written Procedures for the UV sterilizer. -Manufacturer's Instruction for UV Sterilizer must be onsite.-High level disinfection log must be completed for each reprocessing including:date of tests (verification of minimum effective concentration);test strip results (pass/fail); dates when disinfectant was changed (for reuse period);and initials of personal services worker who performed the activity.A template for the high-level disinfectant log will be sent with the report.
    • 13. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Critical)?
      • A used sponge is used to clean the reprocessing sink.Please discard sponges after use, as sponges are not cleanable. Staff discarded the sponges during the inspection.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • High-level disinfection logs are not being kept.Please ensure high-level disinfection logs are completed and include the following information: -date of tests (verification of minimum effective concentration);-test strip results (pass/fail); -dates when disinfectant was changed (for reuse period);-and initials of personal services worker who performed the activity.High-level disinfectants must be rinsed off of the equipment according to the high-level disinfectant manufacturer’s instructions. A template for the high-level disinfectant log will be sent with the report.

      • The Clorox cleaning bottle is leaking. Please ensure all cleaning bottles are maintained in good repair and are free of leaks. Staff discarded the bottle during the inspection.
