- The facility experienced a water leak originating from the ceiling of the staff washroom. The classrooms were not affected; however, two washrooms were impacted by the leak. The facility was closed at the time of inspection. Please ensure the following: - Contact a certified restoration company to assess the extent of the damage and conduct professional cleanup.- Provide Alberta Health Services (AHS) with a detailed report from the restoration company outlining the scope of the issue and the remediation efforts undertaken.- Thoroughly clean and disinfect all affected areas.- Structural components such as walls, piping, and HVAC systems may be compromised depending on the severity of the leak. These should be inspected, cleaned, repaired, and disinfected where possible.- Mold contamination is a potential concern. Any walls, piping, ceilings, and ventilation systems exposed to leak must be addressed accordingly.- Remove and dispose of all absorbent materials, including water-damaged drywall.- Ensure all remaining structural elements are dried as quickly as possible to prevent further damage or mold growth. The facility must remain closed until all remediation work is completed.
