      • While the operator was demonstrating diaper changing procedures, the areas around the diaper changing mat and the railings surrounding it were missed during the disinfecting step.The operator was instructed to disinfect all surfaces of the diaper changing station. Please ensure all staff are trained in the proper disinfection of diaper-changing stations after each use.

      • The door handle to the Casita room was inoperable.Please repair the door handle so that the door can close and latch securely.

    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • The handwash sink cupboard located in the toddler room was not equipped with a lock. Chemicals were stored underneath and accessible to children.The operator promptly removed the chemicals out of reach of children.
    • 04. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Non-Critical)?
      • Bingo markers not safe for children were found in the toddler room.The operator was informed about acceptable markers for children, labelled with an "AP" stamp or labelled as non-toxic with an age range. Please removed the bingo markers and sort through all craft materials and remove anything potentially hazardous to children.
    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • The diapering surface underneath the changing mat located in the toddler room was observed to be soiled in dirt and loose debris.Please clean and sanitize the indicated area.
    • 10. Is a properly supplied first aid kit provided and readily available?
      • First aid kits throughout the facility were missing either tweezers, or CPR masks, or both.Please ensure all first aid kids are fully equipped with tweezers and CPR masks.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • 1) The paint of the diaper changing stations located in the infant and toddler rooms were observed to be chipped and peeling.Please repair the diaper changing stations or replace them to ensure the surfaces are smooth, easily cleanable, and impervious to contamination.2) The wall heater located in the Casa B room was observed to be leaking, leaving a water stain on the far corner of the wall.Please address the leak and repair the water damaged wall.
    • 20. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Non-Critical)?
      • The sanitization step was missing when reviewing toy cleaning procedures.Please ensure that the three step method, washing, rinsing, and disinfecting with a 100 ppm chlorine solution for two minutes followed by air drying, is used when cleaning and disinfecting toys.
    • 21. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Critical)?
      • 1) The handwash sinks located in the toddler room, Casa C, and Casa A were not supplying hot water measuring at 15C - 17C.Please repair the handwash sinks to ensure they are continuously supplying hot and cold water for proper hand hygiene.2) The handwash sink in the washroom located in Casa C was observed to be inoperable.Please repair the handwash sink. The inspector was informed that children were using the handwash sink available in the room.3) The handwash sink located in the toddler room was observed to be slowly draining.Please repair the handwash sink to ensure it is adequately draining.

      • Ceiling light covers were observed to be missing, leaving the light bulbs exposed throughout the facility. Light covers protect the children from accidental injuries if a bulb were to shatter.Please install ceiling light covers, light bulb sleeves, or provide documentation that the light bulbs used throughout the facility are shatterproof.

      • Toy bin is stored directly next to the diapering station with toys falling over onto the diapering station.- Relocate the bins and remove the toys from the diapering station.- Staff was also asked to have the toys washed and sanitized.

      • Sink cabinet door in Casita has fallen off the hinges.- Repair the cabinet door.

      • Toy blocks filled the washroom sink is the Casita room.- Please ensure handwash sinks are not blocked and accessible. Keep toys in a separate bin or take to the cleaning station sink directly.

      • 1. The diapering table located in classroom Casita B is peeling/chipped.2. There were cleaning cloths at the hand wash sink in classroom Casita A. 1. Please ensure all surfaces and equipment are maintained in good repair, and are smooth and easy to clean. Refinish and repaint the table or replace the table. 2. Ensure all used cleaning cloths are placed in a bin for laundering and dry clean clothes are kept in a clean bin.
    • 31. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Critical)?
      • There was no bleach disinfectant in the spray bottles in classrooms Casita B and Nido A.Please ensure each classroom is equipped with a surface disinfectant to be used on tables, chairs, shelves, diapering tables, etc.
