- 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
- Operator was not cleaning re-usable equipment (drill-bits) prior to submersion in high-level disinfectant (CS20) as per manufacture instructions.Equipment should be reprocessed in the following manner: - Scrub with brush to loosen soil/debris.- Rinse and let air dry.- Disinfect (following the instructions of the manufacture).- Rinse off disinfectant and store in a clean locationPlease ensure all instructions which are provided by manufacture are followed.
- 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
- The following was observed during inspection:- Scissors for hair cutting had hair between blades.- Hair brushes had hair caught between bristles.- Hair clippers had hair in teeth.- Hair cutting station had bits of hair covering it and the leather pouch used to hold combs.- Scissors were stored in a container which cannot be cleaned.Operator cleaned equipment, workstation and began storing scissors in a container which is easily cleaned.
