      • 1. Several furniture corners (toddler height) lack protective guards.Please install corner/edge guards on all sharp corners in the room.2. A speaker electrical charging cord was plugged into an outlet within children’s reach in the toddler room. Please remove the speaker electrical charging cord from children's reach.3. A low cabinet with drawers and sliding doors is accessible to children; components can pinch fingers during opening/closing. Please install child-proof latches/guards on all drawers and sliding doors and ensure only non-hazardous items are stored within child reach.

      • The door to the outside lacks a cover to create a sleep-conducive environment.Please install an opaque/blackout cover for the door.
    • 25. Are there adequate storage areas sufficient for the operation of the facility?
      • Hooks for children’s outerwear in the new Toddler Room are mounted too close together to keep items separate. Please increase spacing or add additional hooks so each child’s items are physically separated.

      • 1. Noted several items that may pose a safety concern within reach of children in the Safari room. Please ensure all items that may pose a safety hazard are out of reach of children.2. Please remove the rash creams in the washroom that are within children's reach.
    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. The white shelf in the diaper change area in the infant room is in poor repair. Please replace this shelf unit.2. Several holes on walls were observed throughout the infant room and in the Safari room. Please ensure all walls are smooth to facilitate their cleaning. A fresh coat of paint is recommended.
    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • There is no handwashing sink in the Safari room, as such, diapering cannot occur in this room.
    • 15. Is laundry being properly handled in a suitable manner?
      • Children's blankets must be washed weekly.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. Thorough cleaning of facility is required, hard-to-reach areas need to be addressed.2. Please ensure high chairs are cleaned properly.3. Please replace paper blinds; the ones in use are not in good repair.
    • 25. Are there adequate storage areas sufficient for the operation of the facility?
      • 1. In the Safari room, children's sleeping cots and blankets were stored on top of each other, preventing proper separation for each individual cot and blanket. Please ensure that cots and blankets are stored in a manner that allows for adequate separation between each child.2. While there is no specific distance required between children's hooks for their winter jackets, it is strongly recommended that there is adequate separation between hooks to prevent the potential spread of lice and bedbugs.
