      • The backdoor is missing a door handle, leaving a hole exposed to the exterior.Corrective Action:Install a door handle for the backdoor to prevent exposure to the exterior.

    • 10. Is cleansing and antisepsis of skin and mucous membrane performed in accordance to written procedures and are suitable products being used?
      • Upon discussion of waxing process with operator, there was no mention of cleansing of skin prior to waxing.Corrective Action:- Advised operator to cleanse the area of skin prior to waxing.- Ensure you have a product to appropriately cleanse the area of the skin prior to waxing.
    • 13. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Critical)?
      • Upon discussion of waxing process with operator, single-use wooden stick applicators were placed back in the wax container.Corrective Action:Advised operator to immediately dispose of single-use wooden stick applicators used for waxing. These should not be placed back in the wax after use.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • The operator is not following the manufacturer’s instructions for mixing the Barbicide disinfectant. They lack a way to measure the required 2 ounces of Barbicide disinfectant to mix with 32 ounces of water, as specified on the label.Corrective Action:- Ensure you follow the manufacturer’s instructions for this disinfectant.- Ensure you have a way to accurately measure the correct volumes of Barbicide disinfectant and water for proper mixing.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Barbicide and Clippercide disinfectants found on site are the USA versions with EPA numbers, approved for use in the USA. Corrective Action:- Advised the operator that the Canadian versions, which have DIN numbers, are approved for use in Canada.- Moving forward, ensure all disinfectants used have a DIN or an MDL issued by Health Canada.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • Accumulated hair was observed in drawers where tools and equipment are stored, as well as on work surfaces.Corrective Action:Advised the operator to ensure more frequent and thorough cleaning.
