    • 06. Do operators and personal services workers comply with the Personal Services Regulation and Standards and do they have the skills and knowledge to perform their duties in a safe and sanitary manner?
      • When discussing waxing procedures with the operator, there was no cleansing step being conducted.The operator was educated during the inspection.
    • 08. Is hand hygiene performed by the personal services worker when required, in a proper manner and are provisions available to perform hand hygiene?
      • There was no sanitary means to dry hands in the washroom handwashing sink.REQUIREMENT: Take one of the following actions or the other:1. Use disposable towels like paper towels contained in a stable holder.2. Use a reusable hand towel which can be placed in a nearby laundry bin.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • No disinfecting wipes were available for client contact surfaces. The operator proposed using a cleansing wipe with no DIN, which is not satisfactory or in compliance.REQUIREMENT: Obtain a low-level disinfectant (e.g. Lysol wipes) to disinfect client contact surfaces.
    • 29. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained to allow for the safe and sanitary provision of personal services (Non-Critical)?
      • 1) Since the operator is offering waxing services. fully carpeted flooring will likely become visibly contaminated with too much diifculty in keeping the floor clean.REQUIREMENT: Part of the floor must become easily cleanable. Install a hard vinyl protector which extends far enough to catch wax drops if spilled.2) There is no garbage in the client/procedure room.REQUIREMENT: Obtain a garbage/waste receptacle for the room.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this personal services facility (Critical)?
      • The operator intended on using cloth waxing strips coloured navy blue. These strips will not be practical to view for cleanliness prior to using on a person.REQUIREMENT: Obtain white coloured waxing strips which can be easily checked for cleanliness prior to use.
